Become a Fundraiser / Attendee

Dutchess County SPCA’s Petwalk is one of the largest events held each year to help raise funds to care for over 1,500 homeless, abused and neglected animals of Dutchess County that come through our doors.  All donations are tax deductible.

Register for Petwalk, you will be taken to our FirstGiving Registration page where you can register up to 6 dogs and create your own personalized fundraising page.  Can’t attend Petwalk?  Sign up as a Virtual Walker!  You will still be able to create a fundraising page.  Send your personalized fundraising page link to your friends and family and get them involved!  Open a lemonade stand, hold a bake sale or find other fun and creative ways to raise funds for the animals and have a good time.

If you prefer, download the Off-line (paper) Registration / Pledge Form and use them to register and raise funds.  Mail the registration form, along with your payment, to DCSPCA, 636 Violet Avenue, Hyde Park, NY  12538.  Use the Pledge Form to keep track of your pledges and bring it with you to Petwalk on October 7.

Have friends who want to attend Petwalk with you?  Create a Team.  Each member of your team will have their own fundraising page to share with their friends and family.  Challenge another team to see who can raise the most funds or which team can bring the most people to Petwalk!

Bring your donations to Petwalk and turn them in at the Registration Booth.  This is where you will pick up your “doggy bag” filled with goodies, as well as any prizes you have qualified for.

Pre-Event Registration

Pre-registration is open until midnight, October 4, 2017, and the registration fee is $25 for the first dog in the family, $30 for dogs total.  For each registration you will receive a doggy bag filled with goodies.  Raise $50.00 or more and one registration fee is waived and you will also receive one limited-edition Petwalk  T-shirt. For $55, you may register up to 6 dogs and receive one Petwalk T-shirt.  There are special prizes for top fundraisers (see below).

If you don’t have a dog but want to support Petwalk, you can become a virtual walker!  Just select the ‘Virtual Walker’ option  on the registration page.

Individuals

Day of Event Registration

First dog entrance registration is $30.00 and for $5 more, bring up to a total of 6 dogs.  Raise $50.00 or more and one registration fee is waived and you will receive a doggy bag filled with goodies, plus one limited-edition Paws in the Park Petwalk 2017 T-Shirt. There are special prizes for top fundraisers.

Check in on Petwalk day and turn in your donations

Even if you pre-registered you should still visit the Registration Booth at Petwalk to pick up your all-inclusive Pass. Turn in any additional donations that day and you could be eligible for fabulous prizes. Don’t forget to pick up your doggy bag.

Individual Registration Rewards

If you raise the following amounts – you will win:

$50 – One free dog registration, the special edition collectible Petwalk T-shirt, doggy bag filled with goodies.

$100 – Petwalk T-shirt and a fun dog toy, doggy bag filled with goodies.

$250 – Petwalk T-shirt and a fun dog toy, and a DCSPCA gift certificate you can use on one (1) of the following services: pet pedicure, rabies vaccination or a pet wellness exam by one of our NYS licensed veterinarians, doggy bag filled with goodies.

$500 – Doggy bag filled with goodies, Petwalk T-shirt, fun dog toy, and the the honor of naming new animals. Provide us with ten (10) pet names and we will name incoming animals using the names you submit.

$1000 – Doggy bag filled with goodies, Petwalk T-shirt, fun dog toy, plus, we will give you two (2) tickets to annual our gala, the Holiday Gift for the Animals.

Top Dog

The Top Dog is the individual who submits the largest amount of total donations. Look for more information about this prize in 2017!

To win the Top Dog prize, the individual must turn in at least $250.00 in donations.

Teams

What is a Team?

A team is a group of people who are fundraising together. Teams have a team leader who registers and recruits others to join the team. As individuals register they can select from a list of teams, including the DCSPCA team. Individuals who register as part of a team can open their own fundraising page through the website and collect donations in the name of the team. Donations collected by team members count towards the team’s total fundraising. The Leader of the Pack prize will be awarded to the team that brings in the most donations over $500.00. (The DCSPCA Team is not eligible for the Leader of the Pack award.)

Check in on Petwalk day and turn in your donations

Even if your team pre-registered you should still visit the Registration Booth at Petwalk. The Team Leader (or designated member of the team) should turn in any additional donations. Team members should check in to pick up their doggy bags.

Leader of the Pack
The Leader of the Pack is the team leader who submits the largest amount of total donations on behalf of their team. The team leader will receive a gift basket with items the team can share. We will take a team photo at Petwalk, (or submit your own) and post it at the shelter and on this website.

To win the Leader of the Pack prize, the team must turn in at least $500.00 in donations.
